What we mean by indica

At Best Value Weed, Indica is the shelf we organize by effect rather than by grade. The flower here is consistently AAAA+ quality — same cure, same trim standards, same Ontario indoor sourcing — but we've selected cultivars whose reported effect profile leans toward the body-heavy, sedating, winding-down end of the spectrum. Pure indica cultivars are rare in the modern market; most of what we carry are indica-dominant hybrids that express that classic indica feel. For a deeper look, see our guide on indica vs sativa vs hybrid.

Chemically, what you're usually tasting in an indica is a higher proportion of myrcene, linalool, and sometimes beta-caryophyllene — terpenes that push the experience toward relaxation rather than stimulation. That's a simplification, but it's the useful one.

Who indica is for

Anyone who wants to smoke after work, not during it. People managing physical discomfort — tension, stiffness, sleeplessness. Smokers who find sativa too racy or too head-heavy. Couch-and-movie evenings. The hour between dinner and bed. Customers looking for flower to wind down with, not to power through the day on.

Strains that show up regularly on our indica shelf include Northern Lights (a legacy strain, the template for modern indicas), Granddaddy Purple (grape and berry terpenes, heavy body feel), Purple Punch (sweet, dessert-like, strongly sedating), MK Ultra, and rotating phenos from the Kush and Afghan families. THC typically sits between 20 and 24 percent.

How we price Indica by size

Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid all share the same price tier with us — the shelf is organized by effect, not cost. Indica is $8 per gram, $25 for an eighth (3.5g), $45 for a quarter (7g), $80 for a half (14g), and $120 for a full ounce (28g) — roughly $4.29 per gram by the ounce.

If you'd rather shop by quality grade than by effect, every cultivar here would sit comfortably at AAAA+. For daytime counterparts, see Sativa; for the flexible middle, see Hybrid. More on how we organize the menu in our grading guide.
