Best Value Weed wants every customer to be able to use our website comfortably and walk into our shop without friction. This page explains where we stand, what we're still working on, and how to tell us when we fall short. See also our privacy policy, terms of service, and contact page.

Website accessibility

bestvalueweed.com is built to target WCAG 2.1 Level AA. In practice, that means:

  • All pages are fully navigable by keyboard — every link, button, and form field can be reached with Tab and activated with Enter or Space.
  • Visible focus outlines are present on all interactive elements.
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) are used so screen readers can skip to the relevant section.
  • Images carry descriptive alt text where they convey information.
  • Colour contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI components.
  • Forms use associated labels and clear error states.
  • The site is responsive and readable down to 320px wide, at 200% zoom.

The age-gate is keyboard-focusable and can be dismissed with Enter. The embedded Google Map on the Visit page is supplemented with the full text address and directions link so it never stands alone as the only source of location information.

Our dispensary

The physical store at 133 Dunlop St E was designed with accessibility in mind from day one.

  • Step-free entry at the front door, with an automatic opener button to the right.
  • Wide aisles (minimum 90 cm / 36 inches) throughout the sales floor.
  • A lower counter section for seated or wheelchair-using customers.
  • Large-print product menus available on request at the counter.
  • Service animals welcome.
  • Curbside service — call from the car and we'll come out with your order.
  • Accessible washroom available during open hours.

All staff are trained on the customer service standard under the AODA and the Human Rights Code.

What we're still improving

Honest list of known gaps, in progress:

  • Adding closed captions to any video content on the site (we currently have none, but when we add any, this is the commitment).
  • Improving alt text on some older guide article images.
  • Full screen-reader audit of the age-gate flow — scheduled for later this year.
  • Evaluating a dedicated "reduce motion" toggle for site animations (currently we respect prefers-reduced-motion).

How to give feedback

If you hit a barrier on this site or in our shop — or if a workaround you needed used to exist and doesn't anymore — please tell us. We take accessibility reports seriously and we respond.

We aim to acknowledge feedback within two business days and to resolve or provide a workaround within two weeks. If you request information from this site in an alternate format, we will arrange it at no cost.

AODA compliance

Best Value Weed complies with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), including the Integrated Accessibility Standards under Ontario Regulation 191/11. Our multi-year accessibility plan is available on request. This statement was last reviewed in April 2026.
