Cannabis concentrate in glass jar

A plain-language guide to what's on the shelf

Concentrates are cannabis with everything that isn't cannabinoid and terpene removed. The result is a smaller, denser, stronger product than flower — usually 65 to 90 percent THC depending on the format, compared to 20-odd percent for even the best bud. They're more efficient per gram and, done well, they taste more like the plant they came from than flower does. Done badly, they taste like solvent and hay. We only stock the first kind.

Live Resin · from $40/g

Live resin is made by flash-freezing fresh cannabis right off the plant and extracting it with a hydrocarbon solvent before the plant ever dries. The short version: it preserves the terpene profile of the living plant, which is the best-case scenario for flavour. Live resin is what we recommend to anyone who cares how their concentrate smells when they open the jar. Typical THC 70–80 percent; terpenes 5–10 percent.

Shatter · from $35/g

Shatter is a hydrocarbon extract that's been purged in a thin, glassy sheet. It's the classic concentrate format — stable, affordable, easy to portion, and potent. Less terpene expression than live resin because the plant was dried first, but THC sits at 75–85 percent and the price-per-milligram is the best on the shelf. Our value pick for anyone starting with concentrates.

Rosin · from $55/g

Rosin is solventless. It's made by applying heat and pressure to fresh-frozen flower or hash — no butane, no propane, no chemistry, just squeeze. That's why it costs more: yields are lower. Fresh-press rosin has the cleanest flavour profile of any concentrate we carry, and it's the right choice for anyone who wants to skip solvents entirely. Typical THC 65–75 percent; terpenes the best of the shelf.

Distillate · from $40/g

Distillate is the cannabinoid-only layer — terpenes have been stripped during distillation and then sometimes re-added. It's clear, viscous, very potent (85–95 percent THC), and nearly flavourless. Perfect for vape cartridges, edibles, and topping a bowl if you want to boost it without changing the taste. Not the most interesting format on its own, but useful.

THC Syrup · $40 for 1000mg

A water-soluble syrup you can add to drinks. Slow onset (30–60 minutes), long duration (4–6 hours), edible-style effect profile. Each bottle is 1000mg total — at a beginner dose of 10mg, that's 100 servings. Strong. Start with less than you think.

Where to start

If you're new to concentrates, start with shatter or live resin on a glass pipe or in a simple rig. Walk into anything bigger gradually. For a proper primer, see our full guide to choosing your first concentrate. If you want to talk it through, call and we'll walk you through the options based on what you already smoke and what gear you have.
