Best Value Weed ("we", "us") runs this website and the retail shop at 133 Dunlop Street East, Barrie, Ontario. This page explains what information we collect through the website and the shop, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We try to keep this short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, call us at (437) 889-1446, email privacy@bestvalueweed.com, or use our contact form. See also our terms of service and accessibility statement.
What we collect
In the shop: we scan your government-issued photo ID to confirm you're 19 or older. We do not retain or store a copy of your ID, your name, or your birthdate. If you pay by card, the card processor sees your card details — we do not.
On the website: basic analytics data such as pages visited, approximate city, device type, and referrer. If you fill in the contact form, we collect the name, email, and message you send. If you call us, standard phone metadata applies (your number shows on caller ID).
We do not run a loyalty program, we do not have accounts, and we do not keep a customer database.
How we use it
Age verification is a legal requirement under Ontario's Cannabis Licence Act and the Cannabis Act (federal). Website analytics help us understand what people are looking for so we can make the site more useful. Contact form messages are used solely to reply to you.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. Full stop.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies. A session cookie remembers that you've confirmed your age so the age-gate doesn't pop up on every page. Analytics cookies (if enabled) are set by Google Analytics. You can block or clear cookies through your browser settings; the site will still work.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of external services to run this site:
- Google Maps — the embedded map on the Visit page is served by Google, which receives standard request data (IP address, browser).
- Google Analytics — anonymous usage statistics, configured to mask the last octet of your IP.
- Web host — server access logs are kept for up to 30 days for security purposes.
We do not use remarketing pixels, advertising trackers, or social media login integrations.
Your rights under PIPEDA
Ontario residents are covered by the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request that it be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent for its use. Because we store very little in the first place, most requests resolve in a single email.
Security
The website is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Payment processing in-store is handled by PCI-compliant terminals. We keep no card information on our systems.
