What AAA actually means on our shelf

AAA is where honest cannabis begins. In the A-scale shorthand, it's the entry tier — not a downgrade or a warning label, just flower that meets a basic standard: it's properly dried, cured long enough to smoke smoothly, trimmed by hand or with care, and has enough trichome coverage to do the job. It's the shelf you stock when you want something reliable for the Tuesday evening joint, not something to photograph.

At Best Value Weed, AAA is our floor and we keep it meaningful. That means we reject any batch that's been rushed through cure, that shows visible mould risk, that smells like hay instead of plant, or that's been over-dried to the point of crumbling. Everything on our AAA shelf is Ontario indoor, from cultivators we've worked with for years.

Who AAA is for

Daily smokers who don't want to pay premium prices for a product they're going to burn through in a week. People rolling joints for a party where nobody's doing trichome analysis. Edible makers who need volume at a fair rate. Newcomers who want to try cannabis without committing to $50 an eighth. Longtime customers who just want a reliable bag.

The effects depend on the strain — we typically carry a rotating mix of indica-leaning, sativa-leaning, and hybrid cultivars in AAA. Expect THC in the 15 to 19 percent range, enough to do the work without being overwhelming.

How we price AAA by size

Our AAA pricing is designed so the ounce is the clear value buy. A single gram is $7, an eighth (3.5g) is $20, a quarter (7g) is $38, a half (14g) is $65, and a full ounce (28g) is $100 — about $3.57 per gram when you buy in bulk. The jump from eighth to ounce saves you roughly $60 on what would otherwise be eight separate eighths.

If you're shopping AAA, the ounce is almost always the right call. If you want something a step up in cure and trichome density, take a look at AAA+ — same honest build, noticeably richer in the jar. For the full methodology, see our grading guide.
